Mount Zar

Mount Zar located in the Little Beskids, on Lake Miedzybrodzkie, is famous for its stunning views. This is an ideal option for hiking, biking and skiing.

Mount Zar, with an altitude of 761 meters above sea level, features a distinctive, artificially flattened top, where a water reservoir has been created as part of a pumped storage hydro-electric plant that is a completely unique structure of its kind in the country. You can get to the summit by PKL high-speed cable car, which also carries bicycles.

Summer attractions there include a ropes course located at the lower station of the cable car and a 200-meter-long (year-round) toboggan run. The peak overlooks a picturesque view of, among other things, Lake Zywieckie. Visitors can also take advantage of opportunities for glider or paraglider flights.

Hiking enthusiasts can hike their way to the summit on their own. The ascent will not take long, and there are two trails to choose from:

• red – from the Zarnowka Dam (about 4 kilometres),
• black – along the cable car track (about 2 kilometres).

Mount Zar also attracts skiing enthusiasts in winter. There you will find 3 ski runs:

• red with a length of 1,600 meters,
• blue with a length of 300 meters,
• green with a length of 50 meters.

The parking lot at the foot of Mount Zar is easily accessible by car.
